The location of this place is fantastic, close to the lively Old Town and with a beautiful view of the hill and Madeira, and the host was very attentive and available.

It was located in a pretty quiet area near to the old town, restaurants and other attractions, the charming restaurants and the habour, We got huge and large room with fantastic views as well as a great view. The host made our stay very lovely.

The location of Carvalhal Old Town was fantastic, just a short walk from the center and all the activities in Funchal. I had a great weekend at this hotel. the apartment was excellent, spacious, and had all the modern equipment that I needed for a comfortable stay. the location was also a big plus, as it was easy to get everywhere either by walking or using the local buses. the locals were friendly and always willing to help, which made me feel safe and welcomed. Having access to a pool and decking area was another advantage, especially since there were limited sandy beaches in the area.

That the showers would sometimes get cold if someone had used up all the hot water from taking a bath. Another negative aspect was that the pictures presented online didn't accurately depict the view we had, which was disappointing.

Steep hill made it difficult for some guests.

The balcony could have had more chairs, but we were able to use some from the living room. a minor inconvenience considering the wonderful experience we had.

carvalhal old town exceeded our expectations on our recent visit to madeira. it was even better than our previous stay in funchal. the location was excellent, close to all activities, and the apartment was spacious and comfortable. the host was incredibly helpful and provided great suggestions for things to do and places to eat.

Additionally, it was just a short walk to a variety of restaurants and bars. The highlight of our stay was the stunning view from the balcony, where we could watch the sunsets and enjoy the Christmas lights. The apartment itself was well-equipped, providing everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The owner, Beatriz, was incredibly kind and always available to assist us.
